Here at our small, bustling shop in the Georgian town of Holt in North Norfolk, we have thousands of new and second hand cookery books.
From Jamie Oliver to Jane Grigson, Elizabeth David to the Duchess of Devonshire (yes, she has written a cookery book!), you will find many gems amongst the thousands of books.

Along with the outstanding book collection, our personal service and extensive knowledge, we have a great selection of quirky, exciting gifts, cards and wrapping papers.
Cookery Demonstrations
The real surprise of the place is hidden upstairs. Follow the lovely smells and you will find our testing kitchen where we try out the recipes from the latest books.
We don't just peruse the books, we use them. By putting the theory into practice, we can really recommend what works and champion our favourites.
We also use the kitchen for cosy cookery ‘get-togethers’.
Not quite a course or cookery demonstration, these events will be for 8-10 people to join us upstairs where one of our cooks will guide you through a particular topic in a relaxed, informal way with plenty of opportunities for questions, chatting and most importantly of all tasting!
